Developments

Since its inception in 1991, 1010 has rehabilitated and constructed five projects for a combined total of 252 affordable housing units. 

Villa Flores

  • A  75-unit HUD financed senior housing development, was finished in October 1998. Villa Flores has a total of 98 residents and was built at a cost of approximately $13M. It has a Case Manager to assist residents with various needs, social activities, and a weekly nurse to name just a few of the special social services available to the residents.

Hope Village

  •  A 66-unit low-income family complex comprised of 1-3 bedroom apartments. Villa Flores was finished in June 2001. It was built for $14M with 9 funding sources. There is a child care center for 68 children from ages 6 weeks to 5 years operated by Los Angeles Child Care and Development Council, and a community high school, and a service center which offers programs to building residents and the surrounding community. Hope Village has more than 200 residents, nearly half of whom are children and teenagers.

Casa Shalom

  • A 30-unit apartment complex comprised of 2 and 3 bedroom apartments. Casa Shalom was completed in April 2006 and is located at the corner of New Hampshire Avenue and Pico Boulevard in the Pico-Union area. It was built at a cost of $10M. It has a child care facility operated by PACE Head Start serving 100 children in 3 daily sessions. The Pico Union Shalom United Methodist Ministry offers programs and services for building residents and community members on site.

Central Avenue Villa

  • A 20-unit low-income multifamily complex comprised of 2 and 3 bedroom apartments. This is a rehabilitation project that was completed and dedicated in March, 2008. It was an at-risk development that was taken over by 1010 to preserve affordable housing stock. The rehabilitation costs were approximately $1M.

 JW Apartments

  • A 61-unit low-income multifamily complex comprised of 2 and 3 bedroom apartments in two buildings offers a child care center for approximately 24 preschoolers operated by Los Angeles Child Care and Development Council, and community and resident service rooms. JW is located on James M. Wood Boulevard in the Westlake area west of downtown Los Angeles. It has recently being completed at a cost of $18M.
