At 1010’s Hope Village community First United Methodist Church of Los Angeles (FUMC) and the Los Angeles United Methodist Urban Foundation (an outgrowth of FUMC) operate Kid City South Park, a program for children and youth from the building and the neighborhood. The program operates after school and during the summer and includes a range of activities including art and music, homework help, martial arts, field trips, and a special focus on leadership development and civic engagement.
1010 Development Corporation was originally founded as a ministry of First United Methodist Church of Los Angeles. Although 1010 now operates independently of the church we are pleased to continue our historic partnership with each other through 1010’s Hope Village and Villa Flores developments which are located in the church’s service area.
